This is my second year teaching at El Camino. I grew up in Goleta and as a part of the Goleta Union School District. I feel so lucky to get the opportunity to give back to the community that raised me! I recently received my Master's in Education and Teaching Credential from UCSB. I enjoy spending my free time reading, discovering new shows to watch, or enjoying a nice cup of iced coffee!

Este es mi segundo año enseñando en El Camino. Crecí en Goleta y como parte del Goleta Union School District. ¡Me siento muy afortunado de tener la oportunidad de devolver a la comunidad que me crió! Recientemente recibí mi Maestría en Educación y Credencial de Enseñanza de la UCSB. ¡Me gusta pasar mi tiempo libre leyendo, descubriendo nuevos programas para ver, o disfrutar de una buena taza de café helado!

Nathalia Bernardo

This is my ninth year teaching and my second year with the Goleta Union School District. I’m originally from Brazil and have called the U.S. home for the past 18 years. First in New York and now in beautiful California. My background includes a Bachelor’s in Journalism and a Master’s in Early Childhood and Special Education. I recently completed both the Bilingual Authorization Program and my Doctorate in Leadership in Special Education. I’m so excited to be part of El Camino’s wonderful Dual Language Immersion program and to help children grow and thrive in both languages. Outside the classroom, I love moving my body, whether that’s running, exercising, or going for a bike ride, spending time with my family and our sweet dog Tucker, and soaking up the sunshine while lounging at the beach.

Este es mi noveno año como maestra y mi segundo año en el Distrito Escolar de Goleta Union. Soy originaria de Brasil y he llamado a los Estados Unidos mi hogar durante los últimos 18 años, primero en Nueva York y ahora en la hermosa California. Mi formación académica incluye una licenciatura en Periodismo y una maestría en Educación Infantil y Educación Especial. Recientemente completé tanto el Programa de Autorización Bilingüe como mi Doctorado en Liderazgo en Educación Especial. Estoy muy emocionada de ser parte del maravilloso programa de Inmersión Dual de El Camino y de ayudar a los niños a crecer y desarrollarse en ambos idiomas. Fuera del aula, me encanta mover el cuerpo, ya sea corriendo, haciendo ejercicio o andando en bicicleta, pasar tiempo con mi familia y nuestro dulce perro Tucker, y disfrutar del sol mientras descanso en la playa.
